
Geonatura employees, Luka Škunca and Marina Škunca, from 04th-06th April 2017 participated on the workshop titled „Natura 2000 Monitoring: Developing conservation management objectives and condition indicators for monitoring on Natura 2000 sites“. The workshop was held in the pictoresque town of Litoměřice (Czech Republic), and it was co-organized by the Dutch NGO Eurosite, that specalizes in connecting nature protection and management stakeholders with the aim to network nad exchange konwledge and experience from the nature conservation field.
The Workshop goals were:
to exchange experiences and examples of good practice in objective setting for habitats and species on Natura 2000 sites,
to produce a proposal for a guidance document for meaningful and measurable conservation management aims that can inform the selection of appropriate condition indicators for monitoring projects,
to achieve an increase in the production of clear, concise and measurable objectives for conservation managemet.
All the workshop goals that the organizers wanted to achieve were successfully fulfilled thanks to the joint effort of all participants. The outcome was a result of lively and very interesting discussions and will be presented to the European Comission during June.
